Government shares excerpts from Prime Minister’s address at youth dialogue

The central government on Monday released excerpts from an address delivered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026, highlighting themes related to youth participation, cultural identity and emerging economic sectors, according to a press release issued by the Press Information Bureau.

The excerpts were shared through a series of posts on the social media platform X and reflect key messages from the Prime Minister’s remarks at the event, which focused on the role of young Indians in shaping the country’s development trajectory.

In one of the posts, the Prime Minister said that over the past 11 years, opportunities had expanded across multiple sectors of the economy. He identified content creation and creativity as areas where young people could play a growing role, including in new formats and digital platforms.

Referring to the creative economy, the Prime Minister suggested that India’s traditional stories and cultural narratives could find wider expression through modern mediums such as gaming. He cited examples from Indian epics and mythology as potential sources for creative reinterpretation in global digital markets.

In another message, the Prime Minister described the next phase of reforms as being driven by youth participation, stating that young leaders would be central to shaping policy and institutional change in the coming years. He used the hashtag YoungLeadersDialogue2026 while sharing multiple excerpts from his address.

The Prime Minister also referred to the need to move away from what he described as a “mentality of slavery,” urging citizens to draw confidence from India’s cultural heritage and philosophical traditions. He referenced the teachings of Swami Vivekananda in the context of national self-belief and purpose.

According to the government, the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue is intended as a platform to engage young citizens in discussions on leadership, governance and India’s long-term development goals. The dialogue is positioned as part of broader efforts to encourage youth participation in public life and nation-building initiatives.

The press release did not include the full text of the Prime Minister’s address but shared selected quotes and themes that officials said reflected the broader focus of the dialogue.

No public enrolment or follow-up programme linked to the dialogue was announced in the release.
